Orbs Over Mount Vernon
My cousins came to visit from Texas last month and Jimmy called from the deck "Hey Leo, you sure got some weird looking planes here."
I went out and looked where he pointed. There were four white spheres, all moving in different directions. It was impossible to tell how big they were or how far away - but I got the impression they were a few thousand feet above us, which would require them to be quite large.
Others came out of the house. None of us could state definitively what they were. We all agreed them being balloons was unlikely as they were moving in different directions. Of course, there could have been many differing wind currents in that area of the atmosphere. Still, it was a very still day on the surface, with a nearly cloudless sky. So it would be reasonable to expect fairly bland conditions up there.
I brought my binoculars to the deck and stabilized myself on the frame of the porch swing. The first orb I looked at was still just an orb, although quite bright. It looked brighter than just something colored white.
The others said "it's heading for that jet!" I looked where they were pointing and saw one of the orbs moving very steadily in a path that would cross the path of a jet way up high, I'm guessing 15-20,000 feet. A vague feeling of panic arose in me the instant the orb passed in front of the jet. But they did not collide which was a relief.
I looked again through the binoculars at the one orb that seemed larger or more substantial than the other three; and was able to track it well. What I saw was not something that made sense. It looked like an over-inflated soccer ball, with a much larger one behind it. The individual panels were clearly defined. It seemed to radiate the white light. The larger one behind it did the same.
I slowly lowered the binoculars as Jim asked me what I'd seen, and told him "Well I was expecting to maybe see a parajumper or a balloon, but that looked like... like a giant glowing soccer ball with another one behind it."
Craig then said "check it out, they're gone." And indeed, they had all disappeared.
